- RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Ocean (The highest qualification awarded by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). The Yachtmaster Ocean certifies skippers to command yachts on unrestricted, worldwide voyages, including ocean crossings.)
- RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore (The most important international certification for the professional operation of yachts on offshore voyages up to 150 nautical miles from the coast)
- Coastal Sailing License (official German certificate for operating motorized sailing yachts in coastal waters)
- Recreational Boating License for Open Water (the official and legally required certificate in Germany for operating motorized sailing yachts and motorboats on the open water)
- VHF Short-Range Certificate
- Medical Aid at Sea Certificate (in accordance with the World Sailing/ISAF Offshore Special Regulations)
- Certificate of Proficiency in First Aid at Sea
- RYA Diesel Engine Certificate
- SKN Pyrotechnic Signal Devices (Certificate issued in Germany for the use, handling, and storage of pyrotechnic distress signals in accordance with the SOLAS regulations)
- Inland Recreational Boat Operator’s License: Sailing + Motor (official and legally required certificate in Germany for operating sailing and motor yachts on inland waters)
- Started sailing in the 1980s: dinghy and beach catamaran sailing
